How do I apply for the Cape Coast Harmattan School ?
You can apply to Cape Coast Harmattan School by filling out the application form (link). Interested person should download the application form from (currently not accepting applications)
The application form should be accompanied by the following documents:
Current CV, highlighting research work or ongoing research activities
A letter of support from head/supervisor
A one-page statement on what you expect to achieve from attending the summer school.

What is the selection process?
All applications are viewed carefully by the core team in consultation with partners from the respective countries.
I am resident of another country than those involved. Can I apply anyways?
Please send an email to (currently not accepting applications) explaining your specific background. The summer school is designed for PhD students from Ghana, Uganda, Sudan, South Sudan, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Germany and Ireland but decisions are made case-by-case.
What is the deadline?

Which costs are covered by the summer school?
If you are shortlisted, all your travel costs, visa fees and meals will be covered. Applicants with own funding can also apply
How do I prepare for the summer school?
You will be informed about preparation on time.
Can I also take part in future summer schools?
